Having a sensitive skin but at the same time a skincare junkie, life surely ain't easy. Loving to scrub my face once a week with my current not so kind facial scrub could be irritating sometimes, especially when I have breakouts.
But I was given a Clinique 7 Day Scrub Cream Rinse Off Formula by my aunt while having a sleepover at her place recently. At first I was quite reluctant to try as I am afraid it will cause me breakouts or drying my skin. But this stuff does an amazing job!
Suits its name, a 7 day scrub cream - it does justice to my skin. I decided to give a try as I forgot to bring my own facial cleanser. Been at aunt's place for nearly a week, and never thought of I could actually scrub my face everyday. I was certain that my skin would not be able to tolerate with an everyday scrub but once I tried it out, I realized this is very gentle on skin and I can feel the very fine grains while applying - which I believe will not irritate the skin and that's why Clinique gives its name "7 Day Scrub Cream".
Back to my own place, I keep using this stuff and man, this stuff light up my skin! It gives the glow and really evens out my skin, brighten as it soften, makes me feel so clean and fresh. Not irritating or not drying. I also found that this scrub does the same job with Just Herbs Lively Clean Honey Exfoliating Cleansing Gel, serving almost similar functions to my skin but with different ingredients.
I highly recommend Clinique & Day Scrub Cream to those who struggles with dry skin, dry patches on oily skin but at the same time having a sensitive skin.
Clinique opted for a uniform sage green plastic tube which enables me to control how much products I need each application and at the same time keep the products clean in a tube. It has a very mild smell which does not lingers on my skin even during application.
The scrub is not like my normal St. Ives scrub, it has a creamy texture that lathers well on my skin. I applied on wet skin and gently massage using my finger tips for about 2-3 minutes. I did not apply it longer as I apply the Just Herbs Exfoliating Gel because if I apply longer, I noticed my skin tend to produce more oil than it supposed. Probably due to the chemical ingredients? I do not know. Maybe!
Below are the ingredients list as stated in Paula's Choice,
Water, Tridecyl Stearate, Tridecyl Trimellitate, Dipentaerythrityl Hexacaprylate/Hexacaprate, Butylene Glycol, Glyceryl Stearate, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Polyethylene, Cetearyl Alcohol, Ceteareth-20, Sorbitol, Hexyldecyl Stearate, Bisabolol, Disodium Cocoamphodipropionate, Oleth-10 Phosphate, Tea-Carbomer, Stearyl Alcohol, Disodium EDTA, Phenoxyethanol, Imidazolidinyl Urea, Methylparaben, Ethylparaben, Propylparaben, Butylparaben
The product claims,
"Dermatologist-developed exfoliating cream deflakes, refines. Helps minimize the appearance of fine lines. Clears the way for moisture."
which in my opinion, it does what it says. This is a fair non-foaming daily facial scrub you can add into your skincare regime, which offers moisture and controls oil production. The only thing I do not like about this product is, it contains parabens. I rate this product with ♥ ♥ ♥ for its quality, performance and packaging. I have to drop 2 loves for containing parabens and not pocket friendly.
This 100ml scrub retail for RM106 at Clinique 's website.
