HG Foundation For Oily Skin | Bourjois Air MAT Foundation

It's been awhile since my last post. Sorry about that, I've been busy for the past weeks and back on the computer for personal life again recently. Phew!

So I've done some shopping last week, been trying, wearing and raving about a new foundation by Bourjois - Bourjois Air MAT Foundation. This foundation has immediately become my holy grail foundation since Bourjois launched it in the end of September. I have had this for a week now and been wearing this everyday to work. It's perfect for Malaysia heat. Much love!

So let's get to know this foundation a lil better. It claims,
Bourjois' Air Mat foundation has been specially developed to give skin a smooth, matte finish that lasts for up to 24 hours. Its non drying, lightweight formula lets skin breathe throughout the day and provides high coverage for a flawless finish. Enriched with mattifying micronized powders, it elimates shine with no mask effect for an undetectable result.
It is a matte foundation which promises a long wearing time - up to 24 hours, and flawless finish. I've got the shade number 05 Beige Dore or Golden Beige; surprisingly it is a perfect match for my yellow/golden undertone. I look no further. You know how difficult it is to find the right shade for your complexion.. And finally I have found mine, wohoo!

I have use this foundation on its own and sometimes I mixed it with my Estee Lauder Double Wear Maximum Cover (DWMC) Camouflage Makeup for Face and Body (use this to conceal some imperfection), but I did not do it often, only when I really need it.

So the foundation comes in a tube, similar to the Estee Lauder DWMC, which is great for travelling. I am not a fan of bottled packaging for travelling although it looks luxurious, it's quite troublesome - I think. For me, this kind of packaging is really good.

The foundation claims to absorb excess sebum and also to conceals and corrects. The texture of this foundation is a little thick but it sits beautifully on my skin. Unlike my Estee Lauder DWMC, it is also thick in texture as well as look thick on my skin. Worth to mention, the texture melts down to a liquid consistency when it contact to your skin however the Bourjois Air MAT has a similar consistency with Estee Lauder DWMC which requires you to work a little faster because it's dry up pretty quick but still easier to blend compared to the Estee Lauder.

The coverage is pretty strong but I would say it is medium and build-able to full coverage. If you need to cover a little imperfection like redness or soft acne scars, applying this alone is good enough, without any concealer. It is also offers undetectable natural finish - so people hardly tell that you are actually wearing makeup. It has a mild scent to it - which may irritate people with sensitive skin, however the scent didn't lingers on the skin - it fades away pretty fast too.

I love the fact that this foundation reduce the size of my pores while doing a great job controlling the excess oil on my skin for 6 hours wearing, without drying up my skin. It is also claims the matte finish could last up to 24 hours but obviously I don't wear my makeup for such long hours - 10 to 12 hours max on a very rare occasion, most of the time is about 6 to 8 hours. I must say, being an oily skin isn't easy, no amount of matte foundation is enough to keep the oil and shine at bay, so 6 hours matte finish is more than good for me. If I have to wear it longer (around 10 hours) just like the other day, I just have to blot my face yet it leaves my skin velvety finish but no shine at all - and the foundation still sits on my face nicely.

It's really does what it says, this is a lightweight non-comedogenic foundation and let the skin breathe throughout the day. I even run the ingredient list on CosDNA to check if it has potential acne trigger ingredients, and I found there's only one ingredient with rating 1 - I have been wearing this for a week now and surprisingly it didn't break me out at all. This is totally totally totally my go to HG foundation and I'm going to repurchase it once finish. So much to love!
