This is gonna be my very first post on products review in my very first blog. I didn’t have the intention to have a blog till I feel the need to share something good to everyone who might search for something for their skin. Why this blog is named Summer Skin September? Nah, I also have no idea, I just feel like it's sound catchy yet decent. Okay, let’s begin!
Some said women reach her maximum beauty when she’s at her 30s. Well, I don’t know why I cannot agree with this statement although I’m quite proud being a woman at the age of 30s and still looking good (but not so good). Our relationship started when I’ve been given few sample sachets by the Estee Lauder’s sales assistant, more specifically at Estee Lauder store, Komtar JBCC Johor Bahru. At that time I was desperate for a companion that can give me a radiant and hydrated skin.
My skin condition was quite weird then… I had oily T-zone and really dry flaky skin on my cheek. I am also suffering with acne and redness. Therefore it was quite hard to find a suitor for my skin. Product that has rich ingredients caused irritation and lighter formula ones just don’t work. At that time, I’ve been using Retin-A in my PM skincare regime with only one hope - to clear my face from acne. But I felt it gets worsen, acne came slow but BONUS! I get redness, bumps and you name it, they are all came in package to my face. So I decided to stop with Retin-A and switch to Avene - a skincare brand made in Paris. Avene did pretty well to my face but I still felt my skin soak all the moisture from the moisturizer and it was just not enough for me. I still woke up with super oily skin in the morning and my face turns super dull and slightly darker.
Luckily I found Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair (hereinafter ANR) and I thought we were match-made in heaven. At the very first experience with ANR, I had more breakouts the next morning I woke up. So I stop using it for bout 3 weeks and let my skin soothe and rest a little from any skincare products (including Avene). Till one day I read a review from the internet on the correct ways to apply ANR and that night I decided to give a go for the second time. And guess what? My skin miraculously bright, well rested, glowy and just with enough moisture. How about the breakouts? The breakouts soothe and some tiny pimple gone leaving a faded scar. And I keep using ANR on the next PM and the recent scar has completely gone and the old acne scar faded a little more. What's more to ask for when a small sachet can do such an amazing job in just few nights? With 1 sachet left in my makeup bag, I quickly bought a full size and keep using it for about 3 weeks now. Now I understand why people is raving about it (only if you know how to apply it properly). This is simply a true definition of beauty sleep. Below are the products details as in my opinion:

APPLICATION:
Apply 1-2 drops of ANR to clear skin. Right after your toner (but I don’t use any toners, because it’s totally a waste of money buying toners if you believe you have cleaned your face completely), before moisturizer. Pat the serum to your skin gently and let it absorb into your skin for a couple of minutes then start apply the moisturizer. Although it’s supposed to be worn at night, you can also wear it during the day too. In fact, it is better to apply AM & PM for optimum result.
TEXTURE:
It has a very typical serum texture. Dries off quickly when applied on skin, that’s because it gets absorbed into the skin almost immediately. Leaves your skin feeling matte. It has a strong drug smell, fortunately it doesn’t last long.. The smell wears off as soon as it dries off.
PROS:
1. It delivers quick result. You can see improvement within a week.
2. Works on every skintypes including sensitive skin. And suitable for every age group.
3. Has duo-function, which is to prevent and to repair.
CONS:
1. The price can be quite steep. But a bottle can last quite long, about 6 months. I guess if you break it down to how much you pay per day, you can still justify the price.
WHO SHOULD GET THIS?
Anyone and everyone who wants beautiful skin.
MY TWO CENTS:
I totally recommend this to everyone. So far, I only heard positive feedback on this serum (on beauty blog reviews, as well as oral testimony). You really have to try it yourself to understand the miracle of this serum.
