A good facial cleanser (at least in my thoughts) shouldn't caused any drying to the skin, mild with a very simple ingredients and the ability to remove all the impurities that could caused troubles in the future. It would be good if it formulated from natural ingredients that would do more good than harm to your skin. My criteria of a good facial cleanser would be something simple, mild and gentle on skin, won't caused any drying and has soothing effects to the skin.
Earlier of this year, I've found a good cleanser for my skin type and it is from Avene - a skincare brand based in France that is famous with their ground breaking research on thermal water. If you have tried and believed that their thermal water soothes and refreshes your skin, you should try at least one more product by Avene. My pick is the gel cleanser specially formulated for oily skin that is prone to acne and breakouts.
According to Avene in their website, this very water soluble soapless gel cleanser rich in soothing and anti-irritating Avene Thermal Spring Water. It has sebo-regulating patented Monolaurain (err.. I don't know what is that) and the anti-inflammatory which is Zinc gluconate. The deep cleansing action could eliminates impurities and excess oil without stripping the skin. It also has pH 7.2 which respects the skin's natural balance. Avene also claim that this hypoallergenic and non-comedogenic pleasant fragrance is tolerated by sensitive skin. It is recommended by the dermatologist to be used in conjunction with acne medications and treatment. Those with blemish prone skin, visible shine and enlarged pores is would love this cleanser.
What I love about this cleanser? It has a soothing and refreshing effects to my skin during and after cleansing. To my experience of using this cleanser, I had the best squeaky clean feeling after rinsing off my face and I know my skin is in good hand, ready for the next step - serum and moisturizing. This cleanser does a very well job in removing my makeup residue (of course I cleansed my makeup with the cleansing oil/water first. I'm all into double cleansing method, I must say). Though its contains fragrance but it's mild and I believe it's quite tolerable with the sensitive skin as claimed by Avene. Yes, it does removes all impurities, and excess oil without stripping my skin. Unlike other cleanser, this does not caused my skin to reproduce more oil even after hours washing my face.
I totally recommend this cleanser to oily skin girls out there, who are still searching for a cleanser that don't strip the skin yet still does pretty good job in removing all dirt on the skin.
The only downside about this product is the price tag, which I think a little bit pricey. Price ranging from RM59-70 per bottle of 200ml, depending on where you get this. Guardian pharmacy and Watsons always have promotion on Avene product range, where you can always look for more value of money. For me, as long as I couldn't find any cleanser that is at par or better than this, I will still continue repurchasing this.
