No Nonsense Cleanser | Clinique Liquid Facial Soap Oily Skin Formula

It's time to write a fair review on Clinique Liquid Facial Soap Oily Skin Formula. I am actually a fan of Clinique products but not for this cleanser I must say.

So what it is actually? It is a cleanser specially formulated for oily skin. What it does? It removes the makeup, all dirt as well as the excess oil on your face. Being Sodium Laureth Sulfates as the key ingredients, I am a bit turn off actually but it does contains a soothing and cooling agents i.e. Aloe Vera and Menthol.

Here are the full ingredients,

Water, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Lauramidopropyl Betaine, Cocamidopropyl Hydroxysultaine, Sodium Chloride, Sodium Cocoyl Sarcosinate, TEA-Cocoyl Glutamate, Butylene Glycol, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Serenoa Serrulata (Saw Palmetto) Fruit Extract, PEG-120 Methyl Glucose Dioleate, Sucrose, Menthol, Hexylene Glycol, Polyquaternium-7, Laureth-2, Caprylyl Glycol, Sodium Sulfate, EDTA, Disodium EDTA, Sodium Benzoate, Phenoxyethanol

As claimed by Clinique, this is a  fragrance-free cleanser however I do noticed a mild fragrance to it, basically it is the menthol itself. The clear watery liquid cleanser is said to leave my skin with extra clean feeling - that actually drying my face a little bit.

I would say, this is a simple cleanser for everyday use but personally I don't use this everyday as it tend to dry up my skin especially when I am in air-conditioned room. I only need a small amount to cleanse my entire face (as shown in the picture). How I use this? I am so used to double cleansing method, so what I did actually, I cleanse my face with Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Oil to remove all my makeups then I rinse off my face, continue with this liquid facial soap.

The result I must say, yes it is a squeaky clean feeling - but I didn't like it. This formula actually the first step of Clinique 3 Step for oily skin type however I find it it strip off all the bad and good oil on my face if I continue the step with Clarifying Lotion 3. I also noticed Clinique Clarifying Lotion contains alcohol which actually cause more drying to my skin, so I just leave the step 2 and continue with the moisturizer - Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizer Gel. I love the moisturizer so much and I wanted to love the cleanser as well but I just can't.

What I like about this cleanser, it is actually lathers and cleanse well, despite the mild fragrance to it - I don't mind at all. Value for money? I must say yes. Because you only need a little for the entire face. Personally I think, the full size bottle could last for 5-6 months. Just imagine you're actually spent RM89 for a 200ml cleanser that could last that long.

Glad if there's people out there who actually loves this cleanser without leaving any stripping off feeling to their face - but it does not do as what I'm expecting. So I will just finish this or give to someone who maybe loves it, and I will not repurchase.
